What to wear and bring
What you wear and bring to your photo shoot is completely up to you but here are some tips that you might find useful.
- You should plan for your shoot to last for approximately 1 hour and during that time a number of different pictures will be taken in various styles and poses depending on the number of people being photographed.
- Wear something that you feel relaxed and comfortable in as this will help to ensure that your images reflect natural and genuine expressions.
- A change of outfit is a good idea because it will provide you with an interesting collection of photos to choose from.
- Bright colours work well for ‘hi key’ shots (white back ground) which are currently very popular. White on white is also very striking and gives a contemporary edge.
Young Children & Babies
It’s important that kids feel relaxed and secure during their shoot and there are a number of things that encourage this:
- Bring along favourite toys for them to play and engage with during the shoot to keep them amused and interested.
- If your child has favourite songs or nursery rhymes on CD these can played during the shoot.
- Why not share your shoot with a friend. An hour can be a long time for a young child and sharing the shoot with another youngster allows each child to have a break.
- Bring snacks so that your child doesn’t get hungry or thirsty.
- A variety of outfits is a good idea because it gives you different styles to choose from.
